| Goutal, Parfums Annick | Established by Annick Goutal, born in Paris in 1945; a child prodigy at the piano and fashion model; trained as a ‘nose’ with Robertet in Grasse, France, married cellist Alain Meunier in 1980 and opened her first boutique in Paris in 1981, that sold just one scent, Folavril. In 1986 Parfums Annick Goutal became part of the Taittinger group; opened further shops, left business due to ill health in 1988. In 1992 when in remission from her cancer, Brigitte Taittinger-Warren persuaded her to return. On the 20th August 1999 Annick died of cancer; her daughter Camille has continued to develop new fragrances in collaboration with Isabelle Doyen, the house perfumer. Taittinger has since been acquired by Starwood Capital (2009) |
