1948
(Spirit of the times) (actually created on 23 october 1947) Created by Francis Fabron of Roure, a classic floral parfum with top notes of bergamot, Sicilian lemon and rose wood, heart notes peach gardenia, carnation, jasmine de Grasse, rose de mai, ylang-ylang and orris on base notes of sandalwood, orris, cedar, benzoin, amber vanilla and musk, classified B3f.
First presented in a flacon with a sun with a dove perched on the stopper made by René Lalique et Cie.
In 1951 Marc Lalique created the famous stopper of the two billing doves. The message was originally ‘peace and love’ after the Second World War but due to the advertising showing doves nuzzling young girls or being fed by young girls, it has come to stand for purity and virginity.
