Perfumer; born in Bordeaux in 1909; died in 1976; a striking woman—elegant, tall, thin, blond, blue-eyed. She had a sharp sense of humour and was full of vitality. Worked for the fragrance house Roure-Bertrand-Dupont; e.g. created Fracus for Robert Piguet in 1948, Balmain Jolie Madame in 1953, Balmain Monsieur Balmain in 1964, and Nina Ricci Coeur-Joie in 1946. Created by Germaine Cellier of Roure; a crisp woody oriental chypre parfum with top notes of gardenia, artemisia, neroli, bergamot and coriander with heart notes of jasmine, jonquil, orris and rose. Base notes of patchouli, castoreum, moss and leather, classified D7f. Presented in a simple square modernistic bottle originally designed by Pierre Balmain in 1947, on the base there is the ‘S G D’, the trademark for the Saint Gobain Desjonqueres glassworks. Re-launched in 1992

(Green Breeze) Created by Germaine Cellier of Roure, the first ‘green-floral’ fragrance in perfume history; an edt with top notes of agrumen oils (citrus), bergamot, neroli and violet leaf, heart notes of basil, galbanum, lily of the valley, freesia, rose, jasmine and hyacinth on base notes of sage, sandalwood, oak moss and musk.

Each bottle of the re-launched fragrance carries a certificate guaranteeing its authenticity, signed by Geoffrey Webster president of Givaudan-Roure who recreated the scent. Re-launched in 1997

Also referred to as 'Eau de Monsieur Balmain'; this is the re-branded fragrance 'Verveine Citronelle'; created by Germaine Cellier of Roure; a rich citric edt with top notes of mint, lemon, bergamot, verbena and pettitgrain, heart notes of rose, pepper, ginger, nutmeg and rosemary, on base notes of mosses, sandalwood, vetiver, sage, amber and musk, classified A1m.
