Born at Bonito, near Naples on 6th June 1898; always wanted to be a shoemaker; moved to Santa Barbara on the eve of World War I established business; known as ‘the shoemaker to the stars’. Returned to Florence, Italy in 1927, in 1940 married 18 year-old local doctors' daughter, died in 1960; children take over business turning it into a worldwide empire. First fragrance launched in 1971; early fragrances were not very successful; only in the early 1990’s when associated with Bvlgari Parfums that they became very popular; the fragrance company was sold to Proctor & Gamble in 1994 |

Presented in a tall clear rectangular bottle with an elegant twist with a gold top and cap; the name in bas-relief in on the bottle, designed by Thierry Baschmakoff. |
