Also refered to as Parfum Zenobia. Named after the Queen of Palmyra, third century A.D. an area located in modern Syria; established by William Frederick Charles, M.P.S., a chemist and perfumer. He had established ‘Zenobia’ Laboratory at Woodgate, Loughborough, England in 1888; started producing horticultural products before manufacturing perfumes and toiletries in the early 1900’s. W.F. Charles died aged 79 in 1939, business continues under family direction till 1952 when sold to Genatosan, a subsidiary of Fisons, Ltd.
