Established by Heidemarie Jiline Sander born in 1943 in Wesselburen. Opened boutique in Poseldorf, Hamburg in 1968, the following year founds Jill Sander in Hamburg. Launches first perfume (Jill Sander Cosmetics) in 1979. In the late 1990’s business falters, she entered into partnership with Prada who paid £72m for controlling share in 1999; she resigned after five months, firm taken over by Miuccia’s husband Patrizio Bertelli. |
